[OpenMap Users] mouse modes (mouse cursor)

Why don't MapMouseModes set the cursor properly? I see the Navigation mouse
mode tries to set the mouse pointer to a "cross hair" but I have never seen
that work.

I also tried to set it manually but setting the cursor via setCursor()
didn't work on any of these objects: BasicMapPanel, MapBean, LayerHandler,
the top most layer, .

Any suggestions?
