There's probably other ways as well, but the com.bbn.openmap.geo.Geo class has a static utility method area, which takes in an enumeration of Geo(double lat, double lon) objects, although I'm not sure what the unit of measurement is...

Give upper left and lower right coordinates of a Rectangle (i.e. 2 LatLonPoints), how can I calculate the size of the area that the rectangle encompasses? Is there a method already written in the OpenMap API?
