[OpenMap Users] changing brightness of background layer

Hi

I am starting work on a simple image processing toolkit for openmap that
will enable brightness and contrast adjustment of the background layer if
using a BufferedLayerMapBean.

I have tried extending BufferedLayer including BLMapBean and overriding the
createImage() method to run operations on the image, then adding an instance
of this class to the BufferedLayerMapBean in my application as the
background layer, in the hope of running some image processing ops over the
image before it's rendered. However, this does not work even though the
appropriate methods are getting called.

Can anyone shed any light on what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks in advance

Jim
