RE: [OpenMap Users] Downloaded Shape Files

Hi

Thanks Don and Eliecer for your replies..

 I have tried both suggestions.

I tried letting the code automatically generate the .ssx file as Don suggested, But this still resulted in the same error and no .ssx file.

I then used the util to create the .ssx file as suggested by Eliecer. This worked and did create a .ssx file, but when I tried to use the files in the normal manner, the same error message appeared.

I can only conclude that there must be an error in the .shp file itself or there is an incompatibility problem somewhere. I can however, read the .shp files using Manifold.

If anyone has the time to try and read these files I would be grateful. (I have tried the world.shp)

 Thanks again for your help

 regards

 Mark.

Hi Mark,

The shx file isn't the spatial index file. Just specify a .ssx file
with the same name as the .shp file, and the layer will create it for
you the first time it runs. Make sure that you have permissions to
write the .ssx file in the location you specify.
