Rob, thanks that's really helpful. I'll have a go at integrating those
changes. Do you know whether they'll be going in to the next openmap
release?

Alessio, I probably didn't explain very clearly. I've got an instance of
OpenMap running in a panel inside a bigger application. For example you
load up my app, then you can open a mapping window inside my
application. When you close my application down all memory is released.
The problem I'm seeing is if you close just the OpenMap window in my
application (leaving the rest of the program running) the memory used by
openmap is not being reclaimed.
I hope that is a bit clearer.

Hi Jonathan

I have had the same problems as you and the key issue is null all
references, remove all listeners and remove all components added to the
MapHandler when the openmap window/frame is closed.

That helped me =)
