I looked through sources of the new version and I founded
com.bbn.openmap.plugin.wms.WMSPlugIn. After a while I managed to
configure the plugin.
While debugging I have managed to extract the URL for an area over Poland:

http://onearth.jpl.nasa.gov/browse.cgi?VERSION=1.0.0&REQUEST=map&SRS=EPSG:4326&BBOX=18.754270553588867,51.41758728027344,22.496986389160156,53.09620666503906&HEIGHT=1000&WIDTH=1000&EXCEPTIONS=INIMAGE&FORMAT=image/jpeg&TRANSPARENT=TRUE&BGCOLOR=FFFFFFFF&LAYERS=BMNG&STYLES=&srs=EPSG:4326

If You'll invoke it You'll get an image but using OM the plugin hangs
the whole environment and I couldn't download the image. Doeas anybody
tried WMSPlugin?
I also looked through a set of WMS classes in
openmap\com\bbn\openmap\image\wms ...

Which of those two is most valuable?

Here are the props for my NASA BLUE MARBLE NEXT GENERATION WMS layer

wms_plugin.class=com.bbn.openmap.plugin.wms.WMSPlugIn
wms_plugin.wmsserver=http://onearth.jpl.nasa.gov/browse.cgi
wms_plugin.wmsversion=1.0.1
wms_plugin.format=image/jpeg
wms_plugin.transparent=true
wms_plugin.backgroundcolor=FFFFFFFF
wms_plugin.layers=BMNG
wms_plugin.styles=
wms_plugin.vendorspecificnames=srs
wms_plugin.vendorspecificvalues=EPSG:4326
