> My only comment is why bother? You can test the encode / decoding of NMEA without a serial port as you know. The only part you can't test is RS-232 communications, which, if you're emulating, you're not really testing RS-232. RS-232 is very fickle. You can go from one machine to the next and not get the same results. So my point is unless you're really testing RS-232 using the hardware, you're not really testing it.
