Thanks for looking at this. My openmap.jar file does
have com/bbn/openmap/openmap.properties, and below are pasted the few lines
from the jconsole transcript where it apparantly found 1 copy, then decided
to complain that it couldn't find a second ... (am I reading that
correctly?) ...

Tomorrow i'll try to get a jconsole on one of the windows boxes (this isn't
a show-stopper on a Windows client) and see if that second
openmap.properties attempt is happening there.
I'm not familiar with how this project acquired the openmap.jar file ... ie
if it's standard or what, but would the need for 2x openmap.properties
files inside be normal? Or is it something from outside attempting to
reference the file in the wrong location ... can you tell? Thanks again for
