[OpenMap Users] how to get geographical objects from VMAP data

Hi,

I need to add an interactive layer to OpenMap that includes reasoning about
personnel movement. I would greatly appreciate suggestions for how I should
extend OpenMap to trap the loading of edge, point and area data from VMAP
files. I imagine capturing the information with hooks somewhere down the
stack from VPFLayer when preparing to draw, then accessing this information
to support interaction in a new layer. There are a lot of classes in
OpenMap where I might focus my attention, however, and the general
orientation seems to be on graphical display rather than on representation
of geographical objects (such as roads, swamps, etc.). So, I'd appreciate a
suggestion to look at particular classes as places to potentially insert
hooks. More general architectural advice would also be great.

Thanks!
Peter
