[OpenMap Users] Openmap on android?

Hi All,
     we're looking at a new application with a map component that will run on a tablet. A big requirement is that all of the map data needs to be preloaded and live onboard the device as there may not be a network connection available during the use of the application. This seems to rule out googe-maps-based approaches, and as I'm more familiar with Java than Objective-C we're leaning towards an Android tablet like the Xoom.
Will openmap run on Android?
